Nomadic Fortress was founded in 2010 by Gazelle Amber Valentine and Edgar Livengood as a DIY record label with in house booking agency and a mobile recording studio.  The name reflects a vision which crosses borders both artistically and physically, along with the strangely elastic stability which Livengood and Valentine have built over a four-decade-spanning career characterized by constant motion.  Nomadic Fortress represents impenetrable autonomy.

Via licensing partnerships, Nomadic Fortress releases have been distributed and/or limited pressings co-released by iconic metal and punk labels Relapse Records and Alternative Tentacles Records as well as fellow boutique labels including Choking Hazard (Canada), Grindcore Karaoke (US), Mutants of the Monster (US), Deaf Death Husky (FR), and Witch Bukkake (FR).
